What this Qilin-themed slot actually is
Ways of the Qilin is a video slot made by PG Soft, with a theme drawn from East Asian mythology. The Qilin is a mythical creature said to bring good fortune — somewhat a mix of dragon and horse, regarded as a symbol of prosperity and luck.
The game's visual design is rich — golden frames, jade-green symbols and a misty mountain backdrop. PG Soft has used their familiar smooth animations and audio in this slot, which makes gameplay more engaging.
This game is available alongside other popular PG Soft slots in 222bd's slot collection. Its cultural theme has made it well known among players in Bangladesh.
Reel Mechanics and Ways to Win
Ways of the Qilin runs on a 6x5 grid — meaning 6 reels, each showing 5 symbols. This layout produces 4,096 Ways to Win in total, offering far more opportunities than a typical 25 or 50 payline slot.
Wins are counted from left to right — a matching symbol on consecutive reels counts as a win, regardless of row position. Before spinning, you set your bet size and then press the spin button or leave auto-spin running.
The main symbols in the game are:
| Symbol | Type | Feature |
|---|---|---|
| Qilin | Highest Value | Gives the largest payout |
| Dragon Ball | High-Value | Can appear with a multiplier |
| Lotus Flower | Mid-Value | Appears frequently |
| Jade Seal | Mid-Value | Can appear with a multiplier |
| Gold Coin | Low-Value | Appears most often |
| Scatter | Special | Triggers Free Spins |
| Wild | Special | Substitutes for any symbol |
Free Spins Bonus Round
The Free Spins round begins when 3 or more Scatter symbols land together. During this round, extra Wild symbols stay locked on the reels and multipliers keep building, creating the chance for larger wins than in regular spins.
Multiplier Mechanic
Multiplier symbols can appear even in the base game. When multiple multiplier symbols land in one spin, they are multiplied together to form a larger combined multiplier, which increases the payout by several times.
Maximum Win
The maximum possible win in this game can reach up to 2,000 times the bet. A win of this size mainly comes from the combination of stacked Wilds and high multipliers during the Free Spins round.
Which type of player is this game suited for
Ways of the Qilin is a medium-to-high volatility slot. In plain terms — this game tends to deliver bigger wins occasionally rather than small wins often. It suits players who can wait patiently for a larger win more than those who prefer frequent small returns over a long session.
Budget Considerations
The bet range for this game at 222bd is quite wide, so players with a limited budget can start with small bets. It is sensible to set aside a fixed amount for each session.
Medium Budget Patient PlayerSession Length
The bonus round in this game triggers from time to time, so a productive experience is possible even in a shorter session. That said, given the medium volatility, it helps to allow a bit more time.
Medium Session Bonus TriggerWhat Volatility Means
Volatility refers to how often wins come and how large they tend to be. High volatility means bigger wins but they may not come for a long stretch. This game sits in the middle ground.
Medium-High VolatilityPractical Tips for Playing Smart
These tips come from general common sense — not a guarantee of winning, but advice on enjoying the game responsibly.
Start with Demo Mode
A demo version of this game is available at 222bd. Before depositing real money, use the demo to understand the mechanics properly — especially how the Free Spins get triggered.
Set a Session Budget
Before each session, decide the maximum amount you are willing to spend. Once that limit is reached, stop playing — that is it for the day.
Set a Stop-Limit
Set not just a loss limit but a win limit too. For example, decide that if you win double your session target, you will stop playing for the day — this helps you hold on to your winnings.
Auto-Spin Caution
Auto-spin is convenient, but leaving it running while you look away can drain your budget quickly. Set a loss limit when using auto-spin.
Common Misconceptions and Slot Myths
There are many false beliefs tied to playing slots. Understanding them can help you avoid a lot of regret.
"If no win has come for a long time, a big win must be coming next"
This is a false belief known as the "gambler's fallacy". Every spin on a slot is completely independent — a previous spin has no effect on the next one. The Qilin's reels do not remember what happened in the last 100 spins.
"Raising your bet after a loss will bring a win"
Continuously increasing your bet after a loss is called "chasing losses" — it is the most damaging habit. Once your budget is gone, end the session. It is worth knowing about responsible gaming guidelines.
"Playing at a certain time of day gives better wins"
A slot's RNG (Random Number Generator) does not depend on the time of day or how many people are playing on the site. At 2am in Dhaka or midday — the odds of any outcome remain the same.
